2018 Homespun Block of the Month

It’s the 1st of February, and that means it’s time for the 2018 Homespun Block of the Month to begin! This year’s quilt is the stunning My Butterfly Patch, designed and stitched by sisters Sarah and Rachel Roxburgh using the gorgeous new Tilda LemonTree Collection. The Roxburgh sisters are the imaginative force behind Roxy Creations. Although Rachel Lives in Italy and Sarah in Australia, they have joined creative forces to produce this beautiful fantasy landscape in their trademark combination of textures and techniques.

An eclectic blend of bright whimsy and vintage romance, the My Butterfly Patch quilt matches the summery florals of the LemonTree Collection with soft solids, the earthy texture of linen blends and formal ticking striped denim. Applique, stitchery and patchwork are all employed to create an heirloom quilt that measures 178cm (78”) square and is full of intricate details guaranteed to charm.

The instructions to create the first block are in the February issue of Homespun Magazine. The quilt is revealed over 10 months, each month you’ll find instructions to complete one of the 9 blocks, then month 10 will provide finishing instructions for you to put your masterpiece together! Homespun magazine is available from newsagents and craft stores Australia wide, or digitally through Zinio, Google Play or the Apple Newsstand.
