SANCTUARY
Where is your sanctuary? The woods, the sewing room, in bed with a good book? Or maybe your haven is not a specific place, but rather a more mindful escape. This soft, muted autumn/winter collection is all about feeling safe, cozy and grounded in your sanctuary. A good foundation where you can let your mind fly, dreaming of all the things you want to create and experience. Sanctuary is divided into warm and cold tones, with ornamental patterns combined with woodland scenes and florals to create a safe and homely look.
My sanctuary is first and foremost my home and the nature that surrounds it, and of course escaping into the world of sewing and crafts. The Sanctuary Quilt can symbolize home or a beloved cabin. It’s a very easy quilt, great for beginners. The Paperbird Quilt and Pillows combine the love of paper with the love of fabric. In Japan, paper cranes are used as symbols of hope and peace, and although the Paperbird patterns do not specifically depict cranes, they can still represent that lovely symbolism that is so sorely needed in the world today.
For so many of us, the sewing room is our ultimate sanctuary. This sanctuary is depicted in the Make Do and Mend Quilts.
